As part of its annual cultural program, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Women organized a scientific symposium titled:
"Enhancing the Role of the Family, Reviewing Curricula, and Emphasizing the Role of Schools, Universities, and Elites in Iraq."

The lectures were delivered by:

Dr. Khaled Abed Jassim

The symposium focused on the importance of achieving integration between the roles of the family, school, university, and elites to build a strong and advanced Iraqi society. It emphasized that the family serves as the cornerstone of individual upbringing, the school as the second home where students acquire knowledge and skills, and the university as a platform for refining expertise and developing talents. Meanwhile, the elites play a crucial role as leaders who guide society toward progress and advancement.

The symposium underscored the need to update curricula to align with modern developments and meet contemporary needs. It also highlighted the role of schools and universities in instilling moral values and principles, as well as activating the contribution of elites in providing constructive insights and guidance to prepare a generation that is aware and capable of contributing to Iraq's advancement.

Additionally, the symposium addressed the challenges facing Iraqi families today, stressing the importance of collective efforts to effectively address them. It called for curriculum reforms to enhance national identity and human values while emphasizing the role of educational institutions in shaping well-rounded student personalities. The discussions also spotlighted the contribution of elites in proposing innovative solutions to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for Iraq.

The symposium was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members from the college and department, enriching the discussions and deepening the exchange of ideas.
