Scientific seminar
As part of its annual cultural program, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Women organized a scientific seminar titled:
"Active Participation in Promoting Moderation, Avoiding Extremism, and Instilling the Values of Citizenship and Tolerance."
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Riyadh Mohammed Jihad, addressing several key topics, including:
Positive Interaction in Society
The seminar highlighted that all societies, regardless of their level of development and culture, contain both positive and negative aspects. However, focusing on constructive criticism and finding effective solutions helps overcome societal issues. It also emphasized that extremism is one of the most dangerous phenomena affecting societies, making it crucial to educate younger generations on the values of moderation and balance from an early age.
Extremism as an Example of Negative Social Phenomena
The discussion underscored the significant role of families, schools, and university educators in instilling values of tolerance and moderation in younger generations. It also stressed the responsibility of future teachers in fostering a culture of dialogue and rational thinking in interactions with others to prevent the spread of extremist ideologies.
The seminar was attended by several faculty members, enriching the discussions and reinforcing the importance of such events in raising awareness and promoting positive values within society.
