Scientific seminar
As part of its annual cultural program, the English Department at the College of Education for Women held a scientific symposium titled:
"Intellectual, Cultural, and Social Approaches and Their Role in Raising Awareness Among Youth to Combat Intellectual Extremism."
The symposium was presented by:
Prof. Dr. Asmaa Khalaf Madloul
Lecturer Fanan Abdulqader Salman
The symposium addressed the concept of extremism, its causes, types, and methods of treatment. Extremism was defined as exceeding the bounds of moderation and balance in thought, behavior, or attitudes, where an individual or group tends to adopt rigid and inflexible ideas, beliefs, or stances. Such tendencies may lead to rejection of dialogue or coexistence with others.
The event was attended by a number of professors and students from the department.
