Joint Chemistry Research Published in Scopus-Indexed Journal.
Assistant Professor Dr. Eman Mohammed Khalaf, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, has published a scientific research paper in the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, published by the global publisher Wiley.
This publication comes as part of fostering academic cooperation with researchers from Al-Maarif University. The study focuses on the design and fabrication of eco-friendly bio-composite films composed of PVA, Aloe Vera gel, and gelatin. These films are designed to be used as antimicrobial coatings for mobile devices. Additionally, the research included a molecular docking study to evaluate the efficiency and interaction of these materials.
It is noteworthy that the journal is indexed within the Second Quartile (Q2) in the Scopus database. This achievement is a significant addition to the scientific record of the Department of Chemistry, contributing practical solutions for utilizing natural materials to protect electronic surfaces from microbial contamination.
