As part of its annual cultural program, the Department of Biology at the College of Education for Women organized a scientific symposium titled:
"Effective Use of E-Governance in Raising Awareness and Protecting Childhood in Coordination with All Relevant Entities."
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Musleh, and the symposium addressed the concept of e-governance, emphasizing the importance of utilizing modern technological tools, particularly computer applications, to simplify procedures, eliminate bureaucracy and delays, and enhance overall performance efficiency.
The discussion also highlighted the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which defines a child as any person under the age of eighteen. It explored how e-governance can be leveraged to protect childhood and presented practical proposals to strengthen protective measures. Moreover, the symposium suggested solutions to improve legal, political, and institutional frameworks to ensure the rights and safety of children.
The event also revealed alarming statistics about the challenges facing childhood, underscoring the urgent need for collective efforts and intensified actions to support children's rights and secure a safer, brighter future for them.
The symposium was attended by several professors and students from the department, enriching the discussions and deepening the exchange of ideas.
