Scientific seminar
As part of its annual cultural program, the Branch of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Women organized a scientific seminar titled:
"Parental Strategies for Reducing the Phenomenon of Extremism."
The seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Waleed Ahmed Abd and Dr. Qusay Ajaj.
The event focused on discussing the phenomenon of extremism, which is considered one of the negative issues that have spread significantly in recent times, leaving a noticeable impact on prevailing social and cultural concepts. This phenomenon has led to the fragmentation of cultural and intellectual cohesion, particularly in ideologies related to religious beliefs. Beliefs are increasingly being constructed based on narrow religious, ethnic, and nationalistic foundations, which have deepened and entrenched extremism.
The seminar also highlighted that the lack of intellectual awareness, ignorance, and the vulnerability of certain individuals—especially those suffering from psychological conflicts—have contributed to the escalation of this phenomenon. These behaviors are particularly evident among oppressed individuals or those raised in unstable and unsupportive environments.
The seminar was attended by several faculty members and department staff, enriching the discussions and providing an in-depth exchange of ideas on the topic
