Scientific seminar
As part of its annual cultural program, the Department of English at the College of Education for Women organized a scientific seminar entitled: "The Power of Words: The Role of Literature in Combating Extremism" presented by Dr. Elaf Ghanem Saleh.
The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members from the college and the department, which greatly enriched the discussions and deepened the exchange of ideas.
The seminar focused on the significant role that literature plays in confronting extremist ideologies and promoting values of tolerance and humanity. It emphasized that the written word is not merely a tool for expression, but rather a powerful force capable of shaping minds and influencing social behavior.
The session also highlighted the importance of integrating meaningful literature into educational curricula and encouraging students to engage with texts that promote cultural awareness, peace, and the rejection of violence, reinforcing literature’s role in shaping public consciousness.
