Scientific Participation

Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Musleh Sharqi, a faculty member in the Department of Biology at our college, participated as a member of the examination committee for the Ph.D. dissertation of Noor Sabah Saeed in the Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Tikrit, entitled:

"Identification and Study of the Internal Structure of Vegetative Cover and Its Environmental Role in Treating Pollutants Discharged from the Baiji Refinery."

The study aimed to identify the plant species found in the vicinity of the Baiji Refinery and analyze their internal structures to evaluate their ability to absorb and treat industrial pollutants, particularly heavy metals, and to examine their environmental role in mitigating the effects of these pollutants.

The results showed that some local species demonstrated high efficiency in absorbing pollutants, making them strong candidates for use in phytoremediation programs as sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions for treating industrial pollution.

Dr. Mohammed Musleh Sharqi’s participation reflects the college’s commitment to strengthening academic cooperation and supporting the research process across Iraqi universities.
