Scientific Participation
Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul-Wahhab Abd, Head of the Department of English, participated as a member and supervisor in the defense of a master’s thesis in the Department of English, College of Education for Human Sciences / University of Anbar.
The thesis, entitled:
"Investigation of the Speech Perception-Production Link in the Pronunciation of English Gliding Vowels by Iraqi EFL Learners",
was submitted by the student Hind Mueyyad Abd Mukhlef.
The study, conducted with notable scientific effort, examined the relationship between perception and phonetic performance among English language learners, based on the analysis of 107 words using the PRAAT program. The findings revealed that the perception of sounds was clearer and easier than their production, with the influence of the mother tongue being evident in this aspect.
Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul-Wahhab Abd was commended for his effective role in supervising the thesis, reflecting the dedication of our faculty members to supporting scientific research, advancing postgraduate studies, and enhancing the standing of the University of Anbar on the academic excellence map.
